Manufacturing Innovation Summit to Feature IA Clients Picasolar, Power Technology

April 28, 2015

The Arkansas Manufacturing Innovation Summit, set to run Wednesday and Thursday at the Innovation Hub in downtown North Little Rock, will feature panelists from IA client firms Power Technology Inc. of Alexander and Picasolar of Fayetteville.

Walter Burgess will represent PTI at a panel discussion focused on innovation as part of a company culture. It runs from 9:35 to 10:25 on Wednesday morning.

Then from 10:45 to 11:45, Douglas Hutchings of Picasolar will participate in a discussion on advance manufacturing.

Check out the full summit agenda.

Picasolar is developing a highly efficient solar cell, and this week was named an Edison Award winner for its work. PTI has developed a laser projection system for the movies that it is marketing at industry trade shows in Las Vegas this month.

The Hub, meanwhile, is enjoying a big -- really, huge -- week.

In addition to hosting the Summit Wednesday and Thursday and the first Maker faire event in central Arkansas on Saturday, on Monday it announced a $1 million federal grant that will enable it to complete renovation of its Argenta Innovation Center and also complete purchase of the building.

Stay tuned. More to come...
