Picasolar Wins Bronze Edison Award
Innovate Arkansas client firm Picasolar of Fayetteville, a UA startup, has won a 2015 Edison Award for its work on a patent-pending solar cell technology.
Picasolar took home a bronze medal in the hydrogen power category, where its hydrogen selective emitter was a finalist, according to the UA Newswire. Upp, a portable hydrogen fuel cell, won the gold and Hyundai Motor America’s Hyundai Tucson fuel cell took silver.
Picasolar was named a finalist in February, and the Edison Award represents the latest of the firm's award-winning achievements.
Two other IA client firms and UA-affiliated companies have won Edison Awards -- CycleWood Solutions in 2012 for its Xylobag, a compostable alternative to plastic trash bags, and NanoMech in 2014 for its TuffTek, a patented nano-engineered coating technology for machines.
