The IA relationship with Angel Eye began with a cold call and initial meetings with its founder Dr. Curtis Lowery, in 2010 before the company was even licensed out of the UAMS system. Dr. Lowery is the top neo-natal doctor in Arkansas.

Due to his familiarity with the problem, Dr. Lowery and Angle Eye placed themselves at the cutting edge of telemedicine innovation and saw the benefits of his remote NICU telemonitoring system for UAMS patients and families. What he had not yet accomplished was commercializing the product to other hospitals.

Through its network of relationships, the IA advisors helped Dr. Lowery look for a CEO and introduced Steve Bethel, a seasoned healthcare executive, to Angel Eye and it proved to be a good fit.

Over Steve’s seven-year tenure as Angel Eye CEO, IA advisors have assisted Angel Eye through the course of its growth, initially with tech transfer and licensing from UAMS, then seed capital raising, followed by additional talent acquisition, business development introductions and strategic planning and scaling initiatives.

“IA has been a valued advisor throughout Angel Eye’s development. They have provided input and resources assisting us in capital raises, infrastructure expansion and strategic sales and marketing strategies to help scale our business,” said Bethel.

The Angel Eye story is an example of how IA can help with intellectual property coming out of the University system.
