BioVentures Hosting Commercialization Workshops for Entrepreneurs, Researchers

In case you missed it, UAMS BioVentures is hosting commercialization workshops in April for entrepreneurs and university researchers.

The workshops are designed to ease entrepreneurs and researchers through the process of commercializing university research using the federal SBIR/STTR program.

The first workshop, Commercialization Strategies Using the SBIR/STTR Program, will run Thursday, April 3, from 8 a.m. to noon from Rayford Auditorium on the UAMS campus in Little Rock.
Its focus will be commercialization strategies including how to engage potential strategic alliance partners using the federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. The second workshop, Best Proposal Practices for the SBIR/STTR Program, will be held Thursday, April 17, from 8 to noon at the Rayford Auditorium.
Its focus will be best practices for preparing key sections of SBIR and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) proposals including the research/work plan, commercialization plan, intellectual property and accounting.
Both workshops will offer tips and techniques, and participants will receive hands-on guidance in the following areas:
  • Government organizations
  • Research areas
  • Resources related to financial and administrative requirements
  • Reviewing unique IP considerations for SBIR program ventures
  • Understanding the proposal evaluation process.
Sharon Ballard, CEO and president of EnableVentures, will be the featured speaker at both events.
