BioVentures Starting Entrepreneur-in-Residence Program

June 30, 2015

UAMS BioVentures has been home to several Innovate Arkansas clients, such as Angel Eye Camera Systems, HD Nursing, RxResults, InterveXion Therapeutics and Balm Innovations.

Director Nancy Gray says about 40 startups have been spawned out of the program in its almost 20 years of existence, and moving forward those researchers, doctors and nurses who want to take an idea, service, product or process to market will have internal mentors available to help them.

More from Arkansas Business:

Gray, who took over at BioVentures earlier this year, wants to have "five or six" established founders from the incubator serve as entrepreneurs-in-residence to guide those researchers, doctors and nurses at UAMS looking to commercialize a good idea or product.

The positions will be voluntary and Gray said she already has three lined up. Currently, she has two Ph.D's and a nurse to serve as what she calls internal mentors, and is looking to add two MDs, a clinician and a researcher.

Good stuff. Full story here. More to come...
