University of Arkansas at Fayetteville graduate students and their advisor took first place - a distinction that came with $25,000 - for their business plan during the Tri-State Donald W. Reynolds Governor's Cup competition in Las Vegas.

The team formed the plan for a company called MerchantEyes, LLC, which has developed software designed to streamline in-store merchandising.

This is the first year that the competition has been expanded to include three states, and Arkansas students certainly held their own.
