HRM's Anna Drachenberg: NWA Well Positioned for Tech Startups, Women Founders

May 5, 2014

Anna Drachenberg, one of four founders of Fayetteville HIPAA security startup HRM, believes the northwest Arkansas startup scene can produce not only nationally recognized tech startups, but nationally recognized tech startups founded by women.

"Arkansas is well positioned to do that," she said.

HRM, an Innovate Arkansas client firm, is featured this week in Arkansas Business:

Drachenberg said the local startup scene has blossomed during the past 15 years thanks in part to a growing student population at the University of Arkansas and a growing Wal-Mart vendor population.

"Startups seem to have found a home in NWA," she said. "One of our founders is a native Arkansan and is very impressed with the incubators and organizations, like Innovate Arkansas, that have formed to assist the rising number of startups."

Drachenberg on Innovate Arkansas:
"Innovate Arkansas truly has a pulse on the startup climate in Arkansas and is an invaluable resource for any startup company. It has provided us with a lot of guidance, including key introductions, constructive feedback on our investment package, resources for market research and help identifying programs and options that are available to us."
