The Week Ahead: Made by Few, Pitch IT Launch, Crowdfunding Little Rock Kickoff

August 18, 2014

Big week ahead in the central Arkansas startup world. Made by Few, with its design component Designed by Few, finally is here with its cadre of nationally recognized speakers.

Keep up on all things techpreneur and startup in Arkansas at the Arkansas Startup Digest. Here's a look at some of the biggies coming up this week:

  • Let's start off with MxF. It rolls Friday and Saturday. More info here. Register here. As of Monday morning, just 20 tickets reminaed. MxF with its Friday night design component Designed by Few is becoming a big deal. Plus, the competitors have been named for DxF. More here. All this, brought to you by these folks. The Few, the proud, the.....hmmmm.....bearded? Yeah, that could work.
  • The Arkansas Venture Center's Pitch IT series launches on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. from the Little Rock Chamber. Local marketing guru Jim Karrh (check out his new book here) will kick things off by helping entrepreneurs craft their sales and marketing messaging. Register here (free for AVC members). Pitch IT is scheduled to run the third Tuesday of each month. The workshops will focus on: "learning concepts and elements for giving an elevator pitch, one aspect at a time. At each session, our pitch experts drill into a specific topic for crafting and communicating your pitch to various audiences ranging from customers, to investors, and the media. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to practice their pitch in front of a live audience comprised of members, mentors and peers to gain valuable feedback." Yikes. Sounds terrifying. We kid. Very important stuff.
  • Crowdfunding Little Rock launches tonight (Monday) at 5:30 from the offices of Few in downtown Little Rock. Sign up here. More from organizer Mike Steely: "We are a group of idea folks, startup founders, successful crowdfunding experts, Kickstarter obsessives, Indiegogo maniacs, Kiva crazies, localists, technologists, curious folks and fun people. We want to explore the topic of crowdfunding and how it can impact Little Rock and Arkansas. Join us to discuss, learn and plan your campaign."

These are just three of the biggies going down this week, but as always, 1 Million Cups rolls from the Little Rock Chamber Wednesday morning at 9. Again, check out the full calendar of events of Arkansas Startup Digest
