To-do List Additions: Start Co. Demo Day in Memphis, LR Women Founders Meetup
Add a couple of events to your to-do list, Arkansas entrepreneurs.
We covered some of the week's big doin's in this space on Monday. But add these two: Start Co.'s Demo Day from the Orpheum in Memphis on Thursday and the next Little Rock Women Founders Meetup at the Chamber on Monday.
Recently, ASU's Brian Rogers told us why we needed to be interested in this Memphis accelerator. Lots of Arkansas connections. Plus, Memphis is at least a third Arkie, right?
More from Brian: "This is a reminder about this free event tomorrow. If you cannot be there at 1 PM, I was told that the keynote speaker is at 4 PM and a sampling of startups from the various cohorts will present after the keynote. So getting there at 4 PM would offer a more efficient yet full appreciation of Start Co's program and the Memphis startup scene."
Then on Monday, the latest women founders meetup, part of the Arkansas Venture Center cirriculum, rolls. The action begins at 5:30 p.m. and organizer Alese Stroud tells us the topic will be "Lean Canvas and Scalability."
From Alese: "In honor of back to school month, we are going to do a workshop where members will be asked to share their startup ideas. We will work thru a quick lean canvas model and discuss ideas and concepts for scaling up a business."
