The Week Ahead: ARK 3 Demo Day, Entrepreneurship in Action at Hendrix

Big week ahead in the Arkansas startup ecosystem. Here are the biggies:

  • Demo Day for the third installment of the ARK Challenge startup accelerator runs Thursday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville. Five teams are vying for $150,000 in prize money. More on the teams here (and they include IA client firms HRM and Kernel). More seating has been opened up. Register here.
  • Big day for entrepreneurship Wednesday at Hendrix College in Conway. Entrepreneurship in Action will feature Innovation Hub and ARK 4 director Warrick Sabin; the AVC's Caroline Ford, visiting professor of business at Hendrix; David Allan, Acorn Hours CEO, Hendrix alum and ARK 3 participant; Little Rock Chamber's Jordan Carlisle, Startup Weekend organizer; and Lyke Rupert, director of the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at Hendrix. It begins at 4:15 p.m. from Mills Lecture Room B.
  • The AVC will host Drink IT Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. and the weekly 1 Million Cups Wednesday at 9 a.m. (with Pre-Flight starting Sept. 8 at 5:30 and the next Build IT with Rod Ford on Sept. 9 at 5:30).
  • The September meetup of the Little Rock Drupal Users Group will happen Thursday at 5:30 p.m. from Few's sweet co-working space on Sixth Street in downtown Little Rock. More here
