Jeff Amerine: 'Entrepreneurial Trailblazer'
Innovate Arkansas adviser Jeff Amerine is called an entrepreneurial trailblazer in the latest issue of Arkansas Money & Politics.
Certainly, he is the face of tech entrepreneurship in Arkansas. Amerine, who teaches entrepreneurship at the UA's Walton College and founded Fayetteville's Startup Junkie Consulting, is the subject of a good profile piece from Brenda Blagg.

Amerine gets a lot of credit for creating the thriving startup ecosystem in the region. He’s “the hub of the wheel for the startup scene,” according to Mike Malone, president and CEO of the Northwest Arkansas Council. The energetic 52-year-old was an early and influential leader, Malone said, not just in northwest Arkansas but also across the state.
Amerine has helped build an environment for startups to succeed, he said. That has included working with the Council to get early-stage and, more recently, later-stage funding to push fledgling companies to the next level.Calling strong personalities and hard work “the secret sauce” of successful endeavors, Kathy Deck, director of the university’s Center for Business and Economic Research, said Amerine has been that strong personality and hard worker making the case for entrepreneurship in northwest Arkansas. He “has spread his vision in a variety of ways,” she said, citing Startup Junkie as the latest iteration.
