Mini Maker Faire is Saturday at Innovation Hub

April 30, 2015

Just a reminder. The first Maker Faire event in central Arkansas rolls all day Saturday from the Innovation Hub in conjunction with the Argenta Arts Festival.

More here on the big event:

The Maker Faire will be similar to smaller TEDx events that simulate the larger TED Talks. Maker Faire events are to "makers" — inventors, tinkerers and artists — what Startup Weekends are to entrepreneurs. Hub staff and board members, joined by North Little Rock Mayor Joe Smith and Argenta Downtown Council director Donna Hardcastle, made the formal event announcement on Wednesday afternoon from the Hub.

"Maker Faire has ballooned into a world phenomenon," said Joel Gordon, head maker and director of the Launch Pad maker space at the nonprofit Hub. "It's a collaborative event that brings together artists, welders, makers, engineers. Maker Faire is a festival of festivals. If you have anything you make or produce, you have to be a part of Maker Faire."

It runs from 10 to 6 on Saturday, rain or shine. Fortunately, the forecast calls for shine (well, mostly shine).
