Speaker Schedule Set for Little Rock's TEDx Event

July 14, 2015

In case you missed it, the speaker schedule is set for Little Rock's first TEDx event on Friday, July 24, from the Ron Robinson Theater in the River Market District.

Check it out here.

It includes Dr. Stephen Canon of IA client firm Phyzit, a Little Rock startup he co-founded that aims to address transitional-care management problems faced by both doctors and patients.

The final speaker, recently revealed, is Minnijean Brown-Trickey, one of the Little Rock Nine.

The day promises to be a powerful one.

For anyone needing a refresher, here's more on Brown-Trickey from the Encyclopedia of Arkansas:

Mrs. Minnijean Brown-Trickey is the recipient of numerous awards for her community work for social justice, including the Lifetime Achievement Tribute by the Canadian Race Relations foundation and the International Wolf Award for contributions to racial harmony. Trickey, along with the other Little Rock Nine and Daisy Bates, was awarded the prestigious Spingarn Medal by the NAACP in 1958. In 1999, President Bill Clinton presented the nation’s highest civilian award, the Congressional Gold Medal, to the members of the Little Rock Nine. After living in Little Rock for several years, she returned to Canada in early 2012.
